Cusco, Peru is a city of about 300,000 people located in a valley among the Andes Mountains. The majority of these people have as their ancestry the Quechua tribe.
There are also about 1.2 million Quechua people who live in the mountains surrounding Cusco. This indigenous people group often has little access to quality healthcare.
Twenty minutes outside of downtown Cusco the landscape is very rural. It is common to see the Quechua working with their animals and in their fields.
